BudaPart investment
The BudaPart investment continues with hotel development

March 18, 2021

The largest real estate development in the capital's modern history has reached a significant milestone: the construction of a new building on BudaParton began in February.

BudaPart DOWNTOWN is part of the fourth phase of the investment, which functions as a hotel and office building. Hungary's first full-service hotel under the Radisson brand is based on the Scandinavian approach to hospitality, which helps guests to balance work and private life, and thus the travel experience can be even more pleasant.

The office building part of the building, which will be constructed with innovative and environmentally friendly solutions, offers nearly 8,000 square meters of office space and 350 square meters of retail space on seven floors, and it also includes two underground garage levels, the ground floor and a mezzanine level. BudaPart DOWNTOWN is realized keeping in mind the requirements of the highest sustainability and certification systems. During its design, attention is paid to reducing the building's energy and water requirements to a minimum, several intelligent building engineering solutions are used, and the use of renewable, green energy is prioritized. The building is the third of the 13 office buildings to be built in BudaPart, the construction of which has already begun by Market Építő Zrt. as the general contractor of the district, and the handover of the complex is expected in 2023.

The unique appearance of BudaPart DOWNTOWN compliments the work of the KÖZTI architectural office, which will house Radisson's newest, imposing business hotel, on the top floor of which Skybar is also planned. The Radisson Hotel Budapest BudaPart will be built on more than 11,000 square meters, in which 198 rooms will be created - of which 174 are standard and 24 superior rooms - and a restaurant for 175 people, conference rooms and a fitness room will also be created.

The mixed-use building further strengthens BudaPart's efforts to become one of the most important players in the Budapest office market as a submarket called "Buda Business District" together with the nearby office buildings. The building serves both as an office building and a hotel, and thanks to the additional services, it also becomes a business, conference and event center. All of this greatly helps the Budapest Tenants to organize their discussions, important meetings, and corporate events in one place, and the accommodation of the partners does not cause logistical problems either. It is also important that the constantly expanding services of the city districtthe advantages of the location, the green environment and relaxation on the waterfront can be enjoyed by both the employees of the office building and the guests of the hotel, without even having to leave the BudaPart.

"Our BudaPart project is moving forward with steam power , we are not stopping work, we are implementing our developments according to plans. Our products continue to prove themselves, thanks to which we are already at the fourth stage and at almost a third of the total investment. Our goal is for BudaPart to become one of the most important office districts in the capital, and I am very happy that with our development we are also entering the hotel market, further increasing the comfort of our business partners. With the agreement with the Radisson Hotel Group, we can raise the level of the city district even further and expand BudaPart's portfolio with another defining service," said Dr. Mihály Schrancz, managing director of Property Market.

David Jenkins, Radisson Hotel Group's vice-president responsible for business development in Eastern Europe, said: "We are extremely proud to welcome the country's first Radisson hotel in one of Europe's most exciting capitals, as part of the new urban district on the Buda side of the city. This collaboration perfectly complements our portfolio of five hotels already operating and under development in Hungary - a total of 998 rooms - which will allow us to create our fourth hotel in Budapest. We are confident that the tourism industry will continue to recover in 2021, and we are also excited to follow the further expansion of our presence in Central and Eastern Europe."

In addition to the Radisson hotels in Budapest, Sárvár and Zalakaros, the group is currently developing the Radisson Collection Basilica hotel. The landmark project is scheduled to be completed at the end of 2021.
