The first Hungarian Kimpton hotel is expected on Bem Square in Budapest

​​IHG Hotels & Resorts, one of the most well-known hotel chains in the world, announced that it will open its first Hungarian Kimpton hotel in the building developed on Bem tér in Budapest, after the contract was signed with MAM Buda Project Kft., the owner of the building. The hotel is expected to receive guests from 2024.

The first Kimpton Hotel & Restaurant in the country will be built in Budapest, on Bem József tér, in the area of ​​the former Radetzky barracks. After the opening, the 127 spacious and thoughtfully designed rooms, which do not neglect the playfulness characteristic of Kimpton, will be waiting for the visitors, complemented by such outstanding services as the fine dining restaurant or the rooftop bar.

The owner and developer of the property is Market Asset Management Zrt., a real estate development and asset management company, a member of the Market group, which is carrying out the investment through a project company established for this purpose, MAM Buda Project Kft. Market Építő Zrt., the general contractor of the project, is the leading high-rise construction company in the domestic construction sector, which has participated in the implementation of more than 730 facilities over the past 25 years, including several important monuments and hotel buildings, such as the Párisi Udvar in Budapest.

In 2017, Kimpton opened its first European hotel, Kimpton De Wittet in Amsterdam, Netherlands, and since then it has operated several hotels from Paris to Barcelona, ​​from London to Edinburgh. There are currently seven* Kimpton hotels in Europe, and four more* are being planned, in cities such as Mallorca or Frankfurt, as the demand for boutique hotels grows every year. Kimpton operates a total of 75* hotels worldwide and plans to open 32* in the near future.

IHG Hotels & Resorts currently has three* hotels in Hungary, these are InterContinental Hotels & Resorts, Crowne Plaza Hotels & Resorts and Holiday Inn Hotels & Resorts, and two* are under construction.
